Avoiding Discouragement in Your Business

Many of us can get discouraged when we don't see results from our marketing efforts right away. We create campaigns, we put tons of effort into all we do to promote our business, and sometimes, we just get crickets. It can be so frustrating.

I know it's difficult, but we need to remember, becoming a paying customer is a journey.  A person must go from knowing nothing about you, to becoming aware of your existence, to thinking about whether or not they want to do business with you, to finally making a move to purchase.  All of that takes time.

Consider your own buying habits

Think of all the products you want to buy “one day.”  You likely have a little or a long list of all the things you want to have or use, but perhaps the timing just isn’t right.

Maybe you added something to your cart, but you didn’t have the 3 digit code for your credit card, so you abandoned your purchase.  Maybe you were in the middle of shopping online, and some crazy crisis happened involving a two year old and a bag of flour in the kitchen.  Perhaps you added something to your cart, but then remembered it wasn’t the best time to buy, because your car insurance was going through that week.  You meant to visit that new store in town, but you kept forgetting to.  There are so many reasons people get distracted from their purchases.  Try to remember this when discouragement starts to set in.
